anyway, this is from the prop 8 protests on 11 15 08. randomly rediscovered it on my computer. Not satisfied with the edits, because the base picture was a little blury - shaky hand in all the hubbub - and i caught a fellow photog. but, the darling in front is a Sister of Perpetual Indulgence, if you're familiar with some of the San Francisco queer life. I mostly walked with her and the guy holding the flag, when I wasn't in front with other photogs, snapping shots of the action.
Check the sign above the tunnel. (We weren't.)
I regrettably forget where this was taken, but I can tell you I was running the entire afternoon to get the shots I wanted. at some point I was on top of the tunnel getting shots of the crowd entering, and I was in the midst of the crowd along Powell, and through Chinatown, and at fisherman's wharf when we stormed it, and along the back of Ghiradelli and stopping traffic on Van Ness and back to city hall where Pollo Del Mar gave a full-hearted but slapped-together speech. We got so much love and support from San Franciscans, even though we stopped them on their way to work and walked among their cars...
But San Francisco isn't where we should have marched. Instead, we should have marched through the non-gay-friendly areas. we already have san francisco, yadidimean?
Gah, we need more gay rights activists where I live >.< This would probably be the main reason I'd go to San Fransisco. I live in the town with the pregnant man, I'm sure you've heard of

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
